bio
John Zobele (b. 1993) is an American internet artist and musician based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Born in central New Jersey, he studied Video Production receiving a B.F.A. in 2016 from Point Park University. Through the use of various mediums such as slideshows, short films, web installations and TikToks, he has explored concepts around the history, culture and impact of digital life & the internet. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries including The New Museum, Red Bull Studios NY, Future Tenant, Kunsthalle Zürich, and Contemporary Art Tasmania.
From 2013 to 2016, he founded and curated ‘rrrecycle bin’, an online art gallery featuring browser installations with artists from around the globe. In 2021, John built an online gallery for his growing collection of internet art, ‘zna.gallery’. He also founded and operated the internet music label ‘Business Casual’ since 2013, releasing hundreds of artists on cassette, cd and vinyl to a worldwide audience. As a musician, he has been critically acclaimed for numerous concept albums made since 2013. He has been making content primarily for the internet since 2006.
